    That is laughable....
When you stop laughing, please list the years that the basketball program was in better shape, facility wise, financially, academically and from a broad base of fans (including national TV exposure), more supported than it is right now.

This is some of what I believe...

When M.T. left so late in the season, we were screwed. I do not wish ill of M.T. and in fact wish him well and hope to beat him in the Dance in the next season or two.

I believe most who follow the program expected this to be a down year.

I believe some are/were caught in the hype of Coach Marshall's past successes and hope(d) this would continue without a transition period. I hoped this would occur but never with any conviction only a "wish".

I believe Coach Marshall will return to the level of success most of us desire in the 2008-09 or 2009-2010 seasons.

I believe he will take the program further in the tourney and more regularly than M.T.

I believe it is a better then 50/50 chance Coach Marshall will leave us before he retires.

      I believe in Wichita State.

I believe in Jim Schaus's ability to manage and administer the Athletic Department.

I believe in President Beggs ability to manage and further the University, both athletically and academically.

I believe in the power of the Roundhouse and all of the regulars who weather adverse conditions and regularly journey many hours & miles to cheer their beloved Shocks on regardless of the season the team is having.

I believe in the Men's basketball program’s future success...

                    The statement above does not.

How does that not have merit? When Turgeon came in he inherited a team that couldn't shoot, had little to no inside game, and expected too much out of one player (Terrell). Sound familiar?

Keep in mind that I'm talking about the basketball program here, not the facilities and not the fan base (neither of which you can attribute to Turgeon).

A lot of good was done while Turgeon was here, and I'm forever thankful for it, however most of that good has been torn down over the past 12 months.

The two best things Turgeon gave us was a trip to the Sweet Sixteen and an open door for Gregg Marshall.

Listen we all knew that MT would move on someday and I have no problem with him taking the TAMU job. Trying to objectively look at the situation it made sense and came as close to fitting his criteria for moving on as he was ever going to find.

What I take major issue with is the state of the program with which he left us and CGM. WE GOT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OUT OF THE SWEET 16. How many times did we hear MT warn that recruiting lags a couple years behind championships? Taking a look back it was almost as if MT was foreshadowing his dismal recruiting efforts/abilities and I don’t buy this 2-year lag hogwash. A skillful recruiter would have immediately cashed in on the goodwill all along the recruiting trail.

I mean how many of us would have believed we’d be staring at a Thursday play-in game just less than 2 years removed from S16? It’s simply unfathomable.

Bottom line I thought the program had reached the point that when MT left (and it was not a matter of if but when) that we were on solid ground and all the pieces where there for a good coach to pick up where MT left off…I just never imagined the point at which the handoff would take place. I at least envisioned something along the lines of what TJ inherited in Normal.

Even at the time of his departure I believed in MT. Now I am utterly disappointed that he didn’t leave this place in better shape. I thought he was better than that.

So it is what it is at this point – a complete rebuild of the roster – and I certainly have the utmost faith in our leadership to deal with the aftermath of the mess we find ourselves in; it’s just going to take some time; probably more than any of us ever imagined heading into the season.

I think you will be able to tell me how it has no merit.

Go look up the roster from 2000 and post it here and compare it today's roster.

                        There is no comparison.

Wouldn't expect anything different coming from Cold. A couple of differences between this post and your stuff.

                          1) You're one of our resident shock jocks who makes it a daily habit of getting folks riled up with dozens of in your face posts each and every day. It's what you do. It's simply the persona you've chosen on this board. And here you have chosen a single post of mine to call me out.

                          2) You've chosen to call into question the competence of our new coach. What I'm discussing here is the tremendous dropoff that has occured with this team over the past 12 months starting with MT...big difference.

You come across as already panicking with CGM. No it's not pretty right now and CGM was quoted last night as saying it's probably going to get worse before it gets better. Relax dude...take a hit or get laid but have a little faith and patience.
